Sketchbook figures – exploring line and tone

In December I did 60 quick life drawing sketches – almost filling  my A4 sketchbook. In the last few days I’ve been going back to these to ‘enhance’ them by accentuating pleasing fluid lines and adding tone in a variety of mediums.  I’ve been playing and experimenting and avoiding my scheduled tasks. But the process has been enjoyable and informative and, at times, surprising.

I have been working at this exercise quite obsessively – at my desk, in bed, at the kitchen table, in tea shops and even in a broken down car with my friend Stella while waiting for roadside rescue! Sometimes, particularly when I am  off on a tangent, I can’t be stopped! But don’t worry dear reader, I am not going to inflict 60 pictures on you… just 21!
